On Shaking Ladle Refining Process for the Production of Medium-carbon Ferromanganese

  • Cold charging electric arc furnace process was replaced by shaking ladle refining method to produce medium-carbon ferromangaacsc. The power comsumption for the new method decreased from 1883 kW·h/t to 823 kW·h/t. The recovery of manganese increased from 61.34% to 80.02%. The optimum slag basicity was 1.1-1.25 and the suitable silicon content was 11% -13% for shaking ladle refining process.
